Friction in Ourselves.
Romans 12:1-3 | Wed, Nov 27, 2024 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Most Christians tend to see themselves either as worse than they really are or as better than they really are. You do not often find a person who has found a good balance within themselves to see themselves the way God sees them. We cannot conform to the patterns of this world, because these patterns cause friction within us. We cannot think of ourselves more highly than we ought, because it leads to friction. We must allow our minds to be renewed and refreshed by the spirit of God. We must have a sober self-assessment so that we can live our lives to the fullest.

Friction in Our Families
Philippians 2:1-8 | Wed, Nov 06, 2024 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

During challenging times, individuals within families have a tendency to turn inward and focus on themselves rather than focusing on those around them. However, strong families are committed to having the same mindset as Christ when they face trying times. Friction comes when each person approaches the other with a selfish attitude. The fact is that to avoid friction, each person must make the conscious decision to put others first and to serve them above themselves. It is about choosing to be sacrificial rather than selfish, and that choice brings peace.

Friction in Our Finances
Tue, Feb 20, 2024 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Throughout human history, there has been more friction between people over finances than any other thing. The reason is because many people try and invest in a relationship with God while also investing in some kind of lucrative endeavor. The problem is, sometimes there is more time, energy, and attention given to growing physical wealth than there is to growing our spiritual health. If we are not careful, we will find ourselves more dedicated to the temporal things of this earth rather than the eternal things of heaven. Pay attention to what gets the bulk of your passion each day. If it something that does not have eternal value, it is time for a change.

Friction in Our Marriages
Colossians 3:12-17 | Mon, Nov 13, 2023 | Pastor Terrell Taylor

Marriages can be one of the first relationships that begin to experience friction when times get hard. The fact is that healthy couples don’t fall in love, they commit into love. Let’s face it, treating your spouse with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience does not happen by accident. These attitudes must be put on, like putting on a coat. When couples learn to love each other in this kind of way then Jesus Christ is made evident to people around them. Join Live Free Church for our live Sunday experience!
